Biryani is also quite a popular recipe made on special occasions such as Eid, and Ramadan.
TYPES OF BIRYANI!
There are SO many types and variations of biryani across the region of Pakistan and India: Chicken Biryani Beef Biryani (we’re making this today – yum!) Prawn Biryani, Fish Biryani.
Servings For : 4-6 People Prep Time : 2 Hour
2 lbs beef boneless beef short ribs.
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 tablespoon ginger
- Biryani spices
For the beef:-
- 1/2 teaspoons cardamon, cumin, coriander, cayenne, paprika, and turmeric
- 1 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon biryani spices.
- Plan yogurt 1 cup
- Tomato paste 1 tablespoons
- 2 large onion
- 2 tablespoons oil
PAR BOILED RICE:-
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cups Basmati rice+ spices (for parboiled rice 2 bay leaves, 2 cloves, 2 cardamon).
- Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish.
HOW TO MAKE BIRYANI?
Beef marinated in spiced yogurt is placed in a large pot, then layered with fried onions fresh coriander/cilantro, then parboiled lightly spiced rice, and finished with a drizzle of saffron-infused water to give it the signature patches of bright yellow rice, and melted butter.
Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Slice the onion into thin slices then Cook onion, in batches, for 3 to 4 minutes, until golden brown. Don’t burn, Remove onto a paper towel-lined plate. Repeat with remaining onion.
In a large pot add 2 tablespoons oil then add garlic, ginger, spice blend good, then add 1 tablespoon tomato paste and 1 cup plain yogurt, After 2 minutes add the beef and cover it with water. Bring to a boil; reduce to a simmer and cook, until tender, about 1 1/2 hours.
Wash the rice with hot water, then drain the rice, now In a large pot cook the rice add 2 tablespoons of oil then rice, bay leaves, cardamom, and 1/2 stick cinnamon and salt. Let the rice cook halfway through.
Now ASSEMBLING THE BIRYANI In a separate large pot, layer half of the rice. Then add 1/2 the beef Biryani and top with sliced fried onion, then add the other half of the rice and top with the rest of the beef Biryani and the fried onion. If you have more than 2 cups of rice you can make more than 2 layers. I used my ceramic pot and place it in the oven at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
Drizzle over about 3 cups of the beef broth, that left in the first pot. and some yellow food coloring mixed with water. or zafran with water. To give it a color. Then Drizzle some melted ghee or butter. Cover the pot and let it cook for 10-15 minutes.
Finally, after 15 minutes, uncover the pot and flip it over and enjoy the careful dish.
