Butter chicken is a Indian dish you can serve it with white basmati rice or Naan bread
Servings for: 4 Prep Time: 30 Minutes
6 tablespoons butter, divided 2 lbs boneless/skinless chicken thighs or breast , cut into 1” chunks
1 yellow onion, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
masala 1 Tbsp. garam
butter chicken mix 1 tbsp.
fresh grated ginger 1 Tbsp.
chili powder 1 tsp
ground cumin 1 tsp
1 1/2 cups tomato cut to little cubes.
1 cup heavy cream or half and half milk.
1/2 cup water
salt & pepper.
Using 2 Tbsp. of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then add the pieces of the chicken cook on each side . They do not need to be fully cooked all the way through. Remove the chicken And set a side.
Melt another 2 Tbsp. of butter in the pan over medium heat. Add the onion, and cook until beginning to soften — about three minutes. Add the garlic, garam masala, ginger, chili powder, cumin, and cayenne. Stir to combine, and cook for about 45 seconds then add your tomatoes tell they get soft. Add 1/2 cup of water to the mixture, cover it and let Simmer For about 5 minutes and finally add 2 tbsp. of butter.
use hand blander to blend the mixture together to make it like sauce. Then add 1 cup of Heavy cream and add the chicken back to the skillet and let it simmer for 5 minutes. ENJOY
