Which Rice is better for Rice Pudding Old Fashioned?

You can use any rice, No need to go out and buy a bag of short grain or medium grain rice. This Old-Fashioned Rice Pudding cooks perfectly with long grain rice. You can leave it in the fridge for 1 week.

The key to this rice pudding is a very high ratio of milk (a full 6 cups) to rice (just 1cup). You may think when you start that there’s no way it will thicken up enough but it magically does.

My mom used to make some of the pudding with chocolate, pour half the mixture when it’s ready and white to cups then add 3 tablespoons milk and cocoa powder together to get the chocolate sauce then pour it on top of the other half of the pudding mixture and cook it for 2-3 minutes.

How to make Rice Pudding Old Fashioned in home?

INGREDIENTS:-

Rice Pudding Old Fashioned

1 cup rice

3 cups water

6 cups milk (whole milk)

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cap full rose water

sugar 1 cup

1 pack vanilla sugar

1 tablespoons cornstarch in 5 tablespoons of milk.

DIRECTIONS:-

Step 1:-

Wash your rice with water then drain it.

Step 2:-

In a large saucepan add your washed rice and 3 cups of water, cover and lower heat to low, and let it cook for 10 minutes or until cooked and still have a small amount of liquid.

Step 3:-

Remove the cover and add the 6 cups of milk, vanilla, sugar, salt, and rose water, let it cook for 10 minutes.

Step 4:-

Mix the cornstarch with 5 tablespoons of milk then add it to the rice pudding mixture, turn the heat off after 2 minutes. Stir in rice and reduce heat to low. Be sure to adjust the heat so that it is at a gentle simmer.

Step 5:-

Pour the mixture into small bowls top it with some coconut, and cinnamon.
